Media Planning

Execution

Record what actually happened against the plan.

Execution answers one question

What actually happened? Planning describes intended delivery. Execution records the real delivery so the system can compare planned and actual activity.

Plan → actual
Planned quantity

→
Execution
What did run
→
Verification
Was it delivered?

Print execution

For print, execution is tied to the relevant insertion/publication. That gives the team a clear occurrence to record and verify.

Non-print execution

For non-print, execution is recorded against the placement without introducing print insertion records. The actual quantity can then be reconciled against the planned quantity.

What should be recorded?

  • The correct placement or insertion.
  • Actual quantity delivered.
  • Actual rate or amount when applicable.
  • Publication/execution date or relevant schedule information.
  • Proof or supporting information when the workflow requires it.
  • A status that accurately represents whether the execution is merely recorded or verified.
